Hogfather Première

Postby Rob » Fri Nov 03, 2006 06:40 pm

The première of the upcoming Mob Film's production of Hogfather (which
will be shown on Sky TV at Christmas) will be held at the Curzon Mayfair
on November 27th. In fact, it will consist of all of part one and a
preview of part two, to give the press and others some idea of what it
is going to be. There will be two screenings: one will start at 7:00pm
and the other at 9:30pm. Tickets for the first celebrity screening are
extremely hard to come by, even for us, and the few spares which we can
obtain we intend to give to those whose eligibility for a night out like
this is obvious. Our decision on this is final. We can probably get a
lot more tickets for the second screening. How many, we are not sure
because we understand that some of the cast and some of the crew will be
at this one too. We hope that our allocation will run in to three
figures.

What we intend is this;

Anyone wishing to apply for a pair of tickets for the second screening
should write to the following address - all letters should be received
by Monday 13th November latest.

Hogfather Première Tickets
PO Box 1770
Salisbury
Wiltshire
SP5 5SS

Please include with your letter, your return address and your e-mail
address or phone number. Those lucky enough to be drawn will be told by
Friday 17th November.

We will draw letters at random on a first come, first served basis until
we have run out of our space allocation - but we will also subsequently
open all the other letters, just to check for multiple entries…

Incidentally, what we have on offer here are TICKETS ONLY, how you get
to the cinema on the day is your own affair!

There's posh - a little slanty line over the "e" and everything!
My wife says our neighbour's flowerbeds are prettier than ours. But I think it's just peonies envy.

if it's all you want, Pat, we can have a very posh forum:

Somehow, that doesn't look posh - it looks hairy....

It is certain not a cute look. A grave mistake if you ask me.

Is the accent wrong way round? Surely it should be a rising accent [é] rather than [è]. Should there even be an accent? Sorry for being a pendant.

Premiere or première are both used in the English language. Rob's use of the accent is perfectly correct.

It is the good accent.

The way the accent is put changes the sound produced,
it doesn't change the intonation, as we don't use tonic accents in French

As I said before - the English don't have accents.
